The First World War

I discovered little known stories for this highly acclaimed TV series revisiting the war. I also filmed locations across Western Europe and discovered some genuine colour photographs that later made the headlines in The Sunday Times, Der Spiegel and elsewhere.
The British magazine History Today awarded me the Picture Researcher of the Year award. The jury noted “originality, creativity, imagination” for my work on the accompanying book and described the unearthing of colour images of the First World War “fresh and exciting”.

“An impressive series”
Sunday Telegraph

“Resourceful, tenacious and creative, Gregor’s contribution to The First World War on both page and screen was immense, and rightly recognised by the judges of the History Today award. I would have no hesitation in warmly recommending him for any research job.”
